F1 Grand Prix Drivers

Tears coursed down his cheeks as the Austrian national anthem was played

When the talk is of Jochen Rindt, most people instinctively remember Monaco in 1970. Jochen was peeved at Monte Carlo that year, the new Lotus 72, for which there had been so much optimism, wasn't working.

Mike Wilds - Race of my life

I suppose the race of my life has to be my first Grand Prix at Watkins Glen in October 1974 for Ensign.

Who was the fastest, the greatest, the best ?

Who was the fastest, the greatest, the best qualifier ? These are questions to which there are not definitive answers. Comparison between eras of Grand Prix racing is not strictly possible. At the inauguration of the drivers championship in 1950 there were seven Grands Prix. Today the season comprises up to 18-19 races. Statistics therefore can be misleading.

Patrick Head on the drivers of his cars

Patrick Head has a long history in motor sport, his father having raced in the 50s and passed the enthusiasm on to his son. After working with Lola, Ron Touranac and the Trojan F1 project, and then almost giving up a motor sport career, he joined Williams and has never looked back.

Questions for Keke Rosberg

In 1985, in qualifying for the British Grand Prix, Keke Rosberg electrified a dull Silverstone day by taking the pole with the first Formula 1 lap to exceed an average speed of 259 km/h. It was quintessential Rosberg, aggresion, astonishing car control and sheer showmanship. World Champion in 1982, Keke retired after the 1986 Australian Grand Prix, which he had led for McLaren.

The only driver to have won in both motorcycle racing and Formula 1

The most amazing three days at Silverstone

F1 Grand Prix Tickets
This was the first time I had used the internet to purchase tickets for an event, I must say I was a little anxious once the cash was taken out of my account and I had to wait for Silverstone to release the tickets, but I can reassure anyone who is thinking of using this site that I had nothing but first class service. I had contacted the site and I had an immediate response, the tickets arrived when they said they would and I was reminded of things I might need and how to go about it i.e. parking, all in all a great service.

Driver with wooden leg

To drive Spa Francorchamps today is marvel at the skill and courage of those who raced here. With its sweeping bends that plunge and climb through the Ardennes forest it is not for the faint-hearted.
